Sound Relief: Liam Finn & friends
The first of many Sound Relief posts to come, I thought it best to start with my #1 performance of the day: Liam Finn and friends.
One of my favourite artists to watch live, Liam’s a frenetic, catpivating performer. He plays a range of instruments on stage - guitar, drums, the theremin - but often breaks them all out within one song.
EJ Barnes - Liam’s long time touring partner - helps Liam’s ‘one man band’ title hold true, while adding an extra dynamic on stage, ensuring each performance is better than the last.
After dominating the stage with ‘Second Chance’ and ‘I’m Liam and this is Eliza Jane’, Liam invited the “Finn family band” to the stage, launching into best of Crowded House set. The biggest & best surprise of the day.

Push Over 2009 - hangin' with the kids
Best day.
The Beatles were there. Or McFly to those born after 1995.
There was a bit of Cookie Monster rock from some Byron Bay surfers.
The Queen of Quirky brought some welcomed pop to the kids.
I don’t have much to say about Something With Numbers, except I really like this photo. I feel like he is a Marionette Puppet.

The Veronicas return to the Palais
After over 12 months overseas The Veronicas returned to the venue they’ve performed at most in Victoria - the Palais Theatre. Undoubtedly one of the best shows I’ve ever seen from the girls, they turned it on for the sold out crowd, delivering one hell of a performance.
Being recorded for a DVD, this show will be immortalized and available for purchase in the not too distant future. If you’ve missed seeing the girls on their Revenge Is Sweeter tour, this is your chance to experience the tour from the comfort of your own home. Returning to the US at the end of this tour, unfortunately it will be quite some time before we see the girls live in Australia again.
